I have this problem.

Sometimes (more often than I would like) I struggle with a language barrier between myself and the lunch attendant behind the counter (once even with a girl that speaks only English). It never seems to happen to my coworkers.

Last night Adrian—the short Hispanic man that has decided to teach me to country dance—asked me to go to dinner next week. I figured he has been so kind to teach me, I could have dinner with him. …gulp... He REALLY struggles with  English so sometimes he just starts speaking in Spanish. He was horrified last night when he asked if I could speak any Spanish. I told him I could count to ten. (So I might have understated my abilities. I can count to fifteen…)

Wish me luck.

For those of you who are frightened that I agreed to go to dinner with him—I am meeting him there. I won’t be telling him where I live.

In related news: I am becoming a much better dancer! Unfortunately some of the tricks I have learned are hard for me when dancing with the tall handsome man because I learn them with a short sweaty dude so gauging where to jump is sometimes hard.

"I had a bad experience!" I'm glad you're having fun dancing. We gotta find you a tall partner, though.

I love how the order you use your adjectives is so important. "the short Hispanic man"

Dear Kelli K:

We can be friends right? Good now that we are friends, there is something about your last post that has been amusing me. So you liked the way Lori ordered her adjectives in her post uh? Well let me throw out every other possible order for those three adjectives and see if any of those strike you as doable.

The man short Hispanic...
the man Hispanic short..
the short man Hispanic...
the Hispanic man short...
the Hispanic short man...

yep! I am with you that Lori did choose the best possible order for those three adjectives. :)

one of those three words is a noun...

One is a noun. And "the hispanic short man" would be doable, though not preferable. I am aware of that. I hope Lori understands what I really meant.

Lori, can we see a video of your dance skills?

Awe Crap! Why is it that when you try to have fun at someone else's expense, nine times out of ten you end up being the one that gets laughed at.... Kelli I haven't ever met you but I am liking you more and more all the time. I guess I won't poke fun at anyone else.... for at least the rest of the day.
