I went to school for a reason!

So I just got these pictures for my portfolio. This is a wet bar I designed this summer. With installation going past the time I left, I never got to see the final product. Here it is. I am pretty proud!

Iceburg

I got this email today. Yeah, my breath was freezing to my face just before 10. I am REALLY glad I don't have a 7:45 class.

Yes . . . it's DEFINITELY COLD in Rexburg!!!!

Subject: Weather Flash -- How Cold Was It? -- 1/27/09

The low temperature this morning was a surprising 21-below (the predicted low was around 10-below). This is just the second time we've dropped to 20-below in the new millennium, the other being last year, when we also recorded 21-below on January 22.

It has been as cold three or four other times in the 1990s, but we have not seen colder temps since February 1989, when we plunged to 27-below on February 7. This should be a one-night bitter-cold spell, for a storm is expected to roll in this evening, bringing snow and milder temperatures.

And give thanks you aren't in Island Park this morning -- the low temp
there was 36-below!

I may or may not have...

Leave it to Karalee to bring up such an awkward story. Alas...

When we were in high school Karalee and Mary loved to wrestle. I didn't--Karalee would always win (and I could never take Mary seriously). Karalee had me in some hold and I had been at her mercy long enough I couldn't really breathe. I was getting angry. And as any good sister can, I knew what would push her buttons (and I hold an incredible ability for this). I told her if she didn't stop I was going to spit a lougie at her--gross I know, but she HATES spit and even more so one of those.

She didn't stop

Well I spit and I don't really remember if she hit me or if I just turned my head quickly, but alas as it came down it landed on the side of my head, ALL over in my ear (completely missing her). It was disgusting! She let go. And as is still evident, I have never lived it down.

The End.

Please don't judge me

So Dad HATES this...

I am graduating in 82 days. Well like I have previously mentioned, I need to do something once I graduate. I am SERIOUSLY considering moving to New York for grad school. Weird huh? I have never been the one with the "New York dream"--truthfully I think DC is a much cooler city. It seems right though, so now I just have to see if I get in. I want to do Exhibition Design (museums, galleries, displays for large retail chains--but mostly museums). I am looking into FIT/SUNY. It is the Fashion Institute of Technology (I know Jelena is probably dying that I am even applying to somewhere that says the word fashion :D) it is part of the State University of New York I guess. Anyway, like I said, Dad hates this idea. In fact when I told him he told me not to go because he and Mom are "declining" in years, and wouldn't I feel bad if I weren't here. Oh boy. They are mid fifties! I will keep you posted on that. I need to have a portfolio in by 2-15. Wish me luck.

Oh and on another note, Kelli and I were doing a few clogging steps in the living room the other night. Melissa (my roommate) asked Kelli why she was taking the class if she already knew how to do it.
Kelli: oh I don't know how, I just learned that today.
Melissa: No. THAT -> (pointing to me) looks like she just learned that today...

I think she tried to finish the sentence, but I was in the process of tackling her. And my earring got stuck in her sweater.

The End

No way!

At Uintah High we did a spirit cheer: where the whole student body claps in unison about 15 times. Well four years of that and I am still not confident that I can do that with the correct timing.

I am now enrolled in a clogging class! Oh sorry. I should have warned you to sit. Kelli gets a kick out of watching me try to stay with the group. (He he, no pun intended but actually I did kick her yesterday in class...oops.)

It should be a good experience. I keep thinking of a Brian Regan line: K kids, line up. Time for public humiliation.

School is going well so far. Of course I accidently forgot to go to class yesterday. I guess I am having a hard time readjusting to classes. I haven't really had a class load since April. Speaking of April I graduate on the 10th. Less than three months now.

my baby

Oh boy! I am super stoked! I just got my new computer!!!!!

I am writing this entry from a MacBook. I have already installed my Christmas present: Adobe Design Standard (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)! By the amount of exclamation marks, you can probably gauge my excitement.

Yeah I have no money left to my name (which is unfortunate cause I think I still need to eat this semester).

I am considering names for it. I think it might be a girl (yeah I am going full out on personification) but have been considering boy names. Sam is a likely choice--luckily it works for either gender. Post suggestions--if you are up for such an oddity.

I came back up to Rexburg last night. Kelli is here and so is my new roommate Melissa. I have only talked to her for a few minutes but she seems nice. There is a girl named Lydia, who I haven't yet met (but as it turns out is my Aunt Kirsten's niece--weird huh?) There is another girl named Shaylee and my old roommate Melanie is coming back.

Ahhhh... let the good times roll!!!
