Observations

Today it occurred to me that at work I don't have The World Wide Web. I have The Web-Trial version. KSL was blocked for a little while today.

Somedays I really wish that I were still close to people that meant so much to me in younger days. Somedays I am glad I moved on with my life and haven't limited my experiences to the same small circles.

My seemingly innocent addiction to Wal-Mart fruit smiles has blown out of proportion.

The denotation of spring: a transition of seasons- rapid and unpredictable weather pattern changes. Connotation mid-February everyone is sick of the snow so it should be 70 degree weather from now on.

More of my roommates than not have gotten married within a year of living with me.

Quick Updates

So a college degree and a full time job with benefits didn't do it, but guess what? I am an adult. I just paid for my own dental work. I paid for a lot of things on my own even in high school and have been a pretty responsible kid--but that was NEVER something I did. I guess it is real now.

Our Elder's Quorum came in and sang to the RS on Sunday and brought us all roses. It was kind of cute. Oh and a man brought me handmade chocolates. Too bad he is married.... and old enough to be my dad.

Mom got her new carpet in. We spent last weekend painting and getting ready for that. I am excited to see it. All my growing up years I wanted to change things. She always told me when I had a house I could decorate it how I wanted to. (I guess I wanted to be a designer even as a little kid.) It is kind of fun to get to help her now. Her house is looking so good! We even put some serious color in the office. I will post pictures once I see it.

Kaulene and her roommate Raelynn were down here this weekend in addition to the lovely Karalee and Katie. It was a little crazy in my apartment--but we had a good time!! A couple of us went to this concrete underground canal/spillway/tunnel thing. We essentially went "sledding" on the concrete. It was AWESOME!!!

I am applying for a job in Salt Lake--pray for me? I think it is okay to solicit prayers this way right?

Oh Sara... Seriously. She is hilarious!

She is quite the musician:

So I asked "What's the problem, Lori?"
"What's the problem, I don't know, why maybe I need sleep"
"Sleep?"
"Think about it every time I think about it, can't stop thinking about it"
"How much longer will it take to cure this just to cure it 'cause I can't ignore it if it's sleep. Makes me wanna turn around and face me but I don't know nothing about sleep..."
"Come on, come on take a little nap! Come on, come on I will follow after (in my own squeaky cinder-blocked bed) Come on, come on because everybody's after sleep."
Accidentally in a nap :)

Just a Few Laughs

My nephews Brigham and Hunter went to the zoo with me yesterday. On the way home, Brigham decided we should turn the radio off and tell jokes. Great idea! He and I swapped a few jokes, then Hunter (4 years old) threw out a couple of his own. Here's how it went:

My Joke:
Why did the skeleton go to the movies alone?
- Because he had no body to go with him.

Hunter's Joke:
Why did the water bottle go to the theatre?
- Because he had no water bottle friends.

Brigham's Joke:
Why was the baseball stadium so hot after the game?
- Because all the fans left.

Hunter's Joke:
Why was it so hot at the beach?
- Because there were no fans.

My Joke:
Knock knock.
Who's there?
Impatient cow.
Impatient cow...
MOO!

Brigham's Joke:
Knock knock.
Who's there?
Impatient dog.
Impatient dog...
BARK BARK!

Hunter's Joke:
Knock knock.
Who's there?
Impatient turtle.
Impatient turtle who?
...
...
...
Looked in my rearview mirror to see a very puzzled little face. Finally he shrugged and we all had a good laugh. Best joke ever.
