Little slow on the uptake

First off: This is my new car. I put the plates on today. I like it a lot!

Notice picture #2. Katie and I can't quite figure out what these "pockets" are for. Please post your guesses. Maybe the winner will get a cool prize.

Uh the other pictures are from the break. Sarah was really fun on Sunday. She kept wanting to do stuff with me--shunning some of the others. I liked that ;)

Christmas break has been good. Not at all like I expected it to be--but it was really good. I have had a lot of fun with my sisters this time, especially Amy and Mary. I don't see them a whole lot.

Jelena announced that she and Richard are expecting in July. WOOOT WOOT!!! We are all really excited about that!

Oh yeah,

I got a car today.

It is a 2001 Dodge Intrepid. It is green, dark green. It came from the County, so we got a pretty good deal on it. I am excited.

Yeah! I won't be a pedestrian anymore! Kelli--this was the exciting thing I was talking about ;) I will try to post a picture tomorrow.

i see your mouth moving...

but all I hear is blah, blah, blah.

So after probably the longest trip home from Idaho EVER (okay the other time I had two flat tires was longer) I got home about 9:30 Saturday night. Katie gave me a message about half an hour later and I quote, "oh yeah, Brother Hutt from your old ward called. You're giving a talk tomorrow on the pure love of Christ." Surprisingly it went fairly well. That evening I was talking to my dad about which ward I should go to the next Sunday. Jason (my brother/2nd counselor in the bishopric) came over to see me. Dad said, on my way up the stairs, "oh yeah, I was supposed to have you call him." (That oh yeah gets me in trouble) Jason asked me to speak in Sacrament Meeting this week too. Too bad I don't get to use the same talk huh?

Flat Tires

So some of the best memories of my life happened the summer after I graduated. Jelena and I were best friends and hung out ALL of the time. Our family kept going up to the mountain. We tried so hard to figure out what the benefit of going was. All we seemed to do was eat and then sometimes the others would go fishing. We usually took up a second car so we weren't "trapped." Well sometimes this resulted in a little chaos.

One time we decided to take a different way up to the mountain. We had heard it worked, and we wanted to try. The funny thing is we ended up on the wrong mountain. We ended up a lot closer to Vernal than we should have been. Oh boy... We were in old Thunder so long that one of my legs got sunburned from the rays coming in through the open window. (Thunder's AC was since long shot) Somehow we made it back on the right road and we got a flat tire! Jelena and I both knew how to chagne a tire but it was so rusted on that we couldn't get the nuts off. We jumped on the bar and Jelena tried dropping heavy rocks on it while I held it in place. A couple of men stop to help us. We got REALLY nervous because the men trying to help us started rigging up (and was working on) a set of tools to take off the nut in the center--THE ONE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO STAY!!! We were a little nervous this would affect the axle. Ehhhh.... finally one of the men just decides to kick the tire and it comes off. He puts the spare on and up the mountain we went.

We had a good time and then on the way down Dad decided to drive so that we wouldn't go too fast on the donut tire. Jelena and I were laughing the whole way down and thinking Dad was driving a little crazy. That's when the other front tire popped! He he! We laughed SOOOO hard. Uncle Morris brought up the full size spare from our other Sable (yes we owned 2 Sables -- Lightning and Thunder) Unfortunately it was too big! They were able to get the tire on, but it sure had problems. So we drove the rest of the way down the mountain with one tire too small and one too big. We just prayed we wouldn't get another flat!

I ended up having to pay to have my alignment fixed. Funny thing: that isn't the only time I have had both front tires flattened ;)

Okay maybe that isn't that funny to anyone else besides Jelena and I...
