Erica, my best friend in the interior design program, (refer to the picture below) got engaged last night. I am stoked for her--but a little weirded out. We went and looked at dresses yesterday (yeah--before she was officially engaged). I guess I am having a hard time adjusting to the winds of change.
I realized the other night that I will be the only girl from my main group of friends in high school that won't be married or on a mission this fall.
In other less stagnant news: we had a sweet pasta party at my apartment today. We invited over a random group (okay not random, but a varied selection) of people from our ward. It was cool. I did sort of have issues with the pasta. Two steps: boil water, dump in pasta. Apparently IT IS possible to mess that up. Sad huh? I blame it on the fact that I was doing five things at once with an audience of 8-10 attractive guys. Or it might be that I just can't cook pasta...
Probably the highlight from that was when Robby--the true southern Tennessee boy asked if we still do that relief society thing:
--out of nowhere apparent--
Robby: "So do y'all still do that relief society thang?"
Nate: "Enrichment?"
Robby: "Liake homemAkin'?" (sorry I am not very good at typing with a thick southern accent)
Shayln: "Yeah, we are doing it in March."
Robby: "Yeah, like, I jus remember mya mom cumin home with like a stuffed rat..."
--hysterical laughter--
So apparently in Tennessee they do taxidermy as an enrichment activity...
okay in his defense it was a crafty thing with a sock...
I taught Gospel Doctrine for the first time today. I have taught Relief Society before but the lessons are structured differently. My roommate asked me yesterday to do it for her. It went relatively well. I was a little intimidated because we had a member of the Stake Presidency there. It was ward conference...
I am excited about having the day off tomorrow. I am not really sure what I am going to do. I will need to do some homework in the Clarke tomorrow--but I am hoping to do something else as well. Any suggestions?
