I am an interior design major--but not a craft major. People usually think that they are synonymous, its not true! I spent most of yesterday evening making centerpieces! I know weird huh? While I have put together my fair share of wedding centerpieces, its not something I think is necessary. (That along with my general disdain for handouts typically disqualify me for major positions in both Young Women's and Relief Society)
I am the Enrichment leader and we do combined Enrichment, so the other Relief Society was in charge of food this time and I got decorations. Keep in mind I am the one that plans on using whatever is the wedding closet/room for my reception centerpieces. I think I planned a pretty good one though. It is the RS Birthday party so we are using gift wrapped boxes and filling them with M&M's--edible centerpieces, the only way to go!
Pretty much the highlight of the experience was when I was wrapping the boxes and their lids in separate colors Kelli asked me if I was making handouts. I laughed at her and she asked "centerpieces?" when I nodded she burst out into laughter. Actually the highlight was buying $50 worth of candy...

we had boxes wrapped as presents for the center pieces at our RS dinner tonight too! they looked cute here so i'm sure yours worked great also.
50 bucks worth of M&M's.... w o w! I hope the time spent at the check-out (the beep.. beep.. beep..x50) was one of those moments in life you will look back on with pride for years to come. =)
I must say that I enjoyed those center pieces!! We have one on our kitchen table, however, it is now empty...you can come fill it up if you like!!
P.S. I found your blog!! :o) It makes me laugh!! As much as I think it would be awesome for you to go to New York, I want you to live in Salt Lake so we can be friends!! If not you need to come back to Salt Lake and we can live together..we would have fun!! :o)
P.S. I like Kelli. Also, how come she has a spiffy countdown chain, and I do not!? I'm jealous. Here I have a baby coming, Christmas coming, Halloween coming, And my Birthday is only next year... yet no countdown chain. UGH!
