Security Clearance

So I finally got some correspondence from FIT. It was just my login information so I could check and make sure everything is in. Apparently I needed to fill out a few more forms about my education. Get this: I had to provide ALL academic information--meaning my years at Lapoint Elementary up to BYU-I. I have NO idea why where I went to elementary school could be important information!

Yeah weird huh?

Jazz Game

This weekend I went down to Utah and hung out with Karalee. We watched a Jazz game and had good times. Lisa and Nick and Kyler and Mary came over for breakfast on Sunday morning and Jared and Kara went for Jamba with us Saturday afternoon. Thanks everyone--but especially Karalee--for such a fun weekend.

interested...

I have been reading a lot of stuff with the economy and President Obama's interactions and policies. I am intrigued--wondering what he really can do. I saw this today and wondered how he will be able to accomplish this. It seems like if it could be done in four years someone should have done it a long time ago. I am interested to see his plan for this.

from the best books?

Apparently these books didn't sell well...

The two girls in the center of this picture are friends I met my freshman year. They are pretty much hilarious! I love them! (and I love this poster)

winds of change

Erica, my best friend in the interior design program, (refer to the picture below) got engaged last night. I am stoked for her--but a little weirded out. We went and looked at dresses  yesterday (yeah--before she was officially engaged). I guess I am having a hard time adjusting to the winds of change.

I realized the other night that I will be the only girl from my main group of friends in high school that won't be married or on a mission this fall.

In other less stagnant news: we had a sweet pasta party at my apartment today. We invited over a random group (okay not random, but a varied selection) of people from our ward. It was cool. I did sort of have issues with the pasta. Two steps: boil water, dump in pasta. Apparently IT IS possible to mess that up. Sad huh? I blame it on the fact that I was doing five things at once with an audience of 8-10 attractive guys. Or it might be that I just can't cook pasta...

Probably the highlight from that was when Robby--the true southern Tennessee boy asked if we still do that relief society thing:

--out of nowhere apparent--

Robby: "So do y'all still do that relief society thang?"
Nate: "Enrichment?"
Robby: "Liake homemAkin'?" (sorry I am not very good at typing with a thick southern accent)
Shayln: "Yeah, we are doing it in March."
Robby: "Yeah, like, I jus remember mya mom cumin home with like a stuffed rat..."
--hysterical laughter--

So apparently in Tennessee they do taxidermy as an enrichment activity...

okay in his defense it was a crafty thing with a sock...

I taught Gospel Doctrine for the first time today. I have taught Relief Society before but the lessons are structured differently. My roommate asked me yesterday to do it for her. It went relatively well. I was a little intimidated because we had a member of the Stake Presidency there. It was ward conference...

I am excited about having the day off tomorrow. I am not really sure what I am going to do. I will need to do some homework in the Clarke tomorrow--but I am hoping to do something else as well. Any suggestions?

Oh buddy!!!

I am just really excited--and I wanted to announce to the world--or at least all of my fellow bloggers that I have officially and completely applied for grad school in New York City! FIT here I come...

Oh and I may or may not have sprinted across campus and down two blocks to the post office to get it off in time. :)

Senior Picts

We took our senior pictures yesterday. Our senior show opens next weekend. The funky color one is based on Andy Warhol art. Our theme is "the spectrum unraveled" hence the bright colored accessories in our pictures.

Pond Skimming

I would like to say that I am really cool and this is me splashing in the water. But it isn't. These are my friends Melissa and Leslie with me.
